GParted is the Gnome Partition Editor application. It is an industrial-strength package for creating, destroying, resizing, checking and copying partitions, and the file systems on them. This is useful for creating space for new operating systems, reorganizing disk usage, copying data residing on hard disks and mirroring one partition with another (disk imaging).
Clonezilla is an open source solution for system cloning that saves and restores only used blocks in the hard disk. It is based on Diskless Remote Boot in Linux (DRBL), Partition Image, ntfsclone, and UDPcast. Clonezilla allows you to massively clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously using unicasting and multicasting.
At a NCHC classroom, Clonezilla was used to clone 41 computers simultaneously. It took about 50 minutes to clone a 5.6 GB system image to all 41 computers via unicasting and only about 10 minutes via multicasting!
