Product Description
This Ubuntu 8.04 Software Library is a 5 DVD set with 19GB of software for the 64-bit PC platform. The DVDs contains all of the packages from the officially-supported (main repository) and community-maintained (universe repository) mirrors, as of July 1st, 2008.
All packages were checked after being downloaded from an official Ubuntu archive. The DVDs were tested using APT, Synaptic Package Manager, and gdebi-gtk. In a few easy steps, packages can be installed on any Ubuntu 8.04 based operating system, including Xubuntu, Edubuntu, Kubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Ultimate, Mythbuntu, and Linux Mint.
Packages can be installed using APT, Synaptic Package Manager, or gdebi-gtk (for manual installation). Step-by-step instructions are provided.
Note: This DVD set will not install Ubuntu on your computer. If you do not already have Ubuntu installed, an install CD is required.
